Issuing Investor Number (Heirs Account)

An Investor Number is issued for heirs in order to be able to sell or transfer the shares of the deceased.

  1. Complete the “Investor Number Request Form” and have it duly signed by the Representative of all Heirs
  2. Attach the required documents and submit to the Client Affairs Department
  3. An Investor Number of Heirs Account will be issued and submitted to the Representative of the account

Required Documents
  1. Investor Number Request Form completed
  2. Original copy of Death Certificate.
  3. Original copy of Legal Declaration and/or Inheritance Limitation, duly certified.
  4. Original copy of the Representative's National ID. (for UAE Nationals & Residence)
  5. Original copy of the Representative's Passport.
  6. Original copy of a duly authenticated and valid Power of Attorney must be provided with a copy of the Representative’s ID.
  7. An original copy of valid Passport's of all Heirs
  8. An original copy of the National ID of all Heirs (for UAE Nationals & Residents)

Note; Power of Attorneys issued from other countries must be authenticated by the official authorities and the UAE embassy in those countries.

How to Apply?
Online through DFM eServices or in person at the DFM Client Affairs Department, Trading Floor, World Trade Centre, Dubai


Your presence is not required if your signature on the form is authenticated by an accredited bank, a listed company or a brokerage firm licensed in DFM. Alternatively, a representative holding a duly authenticated Power of Attorney, can submit your form and must present your original passport (signed).
Opening an Investor Number (NIN) is a free of charge service.
