Dubai Financial Market (DFM) will showcase an all-inclusive array of state-of-the-art new electronic services and smart phone applications during its participation in GITEX 2013, the Information technology exhibition scheduled to take place 20 - 24 October 2013 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The Dubai Smart Government stand (S2-B21) at Sheikh Saeed Hall will host DFM’s stand where senior officials and specialists from the exchange will comprehensively explain the new services.
Visitors to GITEX 2013 will have the opportunity to learn about DFM’s most recent electronic services and smart phone applications enabling investors to trade listed securities and track trading activity of listed companies and the DFM General Index as well as company disclosures and market news. Moreover, DFM will display new electronic financial services including the “e-IPO” Portal, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) management solution and the cash dividend distribution service via IVESTOR card.
The “e-IPO” portal directly links IPO and Rights Issue receiving banks with the DFM clearing and depository system, aiming to conclude the allotment and extra amounts refund processes more swiftly than under the previous procedures. This allows the listing and trading of securities to take place the day after the close of the IPO. Through this portal, investors can subscribe to IPOs by filling in a form available on the IPO - dedicated website which will ultimately save their time and effort, decrease mistakes and ensure information accuracy.
During the exhibition, visitors to the DFM stand will also have the opportunity to become acquainted with the AGM Registration kiosk, a DFM innovative service offered to listed companies and investors which represents an efficient solution to organize AGMs through easy registration of shareholders, voting, and board elections using IVESTOR card. It also ensures voting accuracy and generates statistical reports during the AGM. The Registration kiosk has been successfully operated during many AGMs including the DFM Annual Meeting held in 2013, and it will be further developed to make voting via internet possible for the first time in the UAE.
Essa Kazim, Managing Director and Chief Executive of DFM said: “DFM’s participation provides GITEX visitors who are current and potential market participants with a perfect opportunity to gain more knowledge about the most recent electronic services and smart phone solutions directly offered by DFM or through its licensed brokerage firms. These services reflect DFM’s constant commitment to innovation and development as well as taking its services to the customers rather than waiting them to approach us. In this regard, DFM proactively works in line with the government’s various initiatives in general and the smart phone initiative in particular.”
“DFM always aims to provide the highest levels of customer service and make its services available through numerous electronic channels for a much easier and flexible communication with us. In this context, we encourage increasing numbers of investors and market participants to enjoy the benefits of DFM’s comprehensive array of electronic and phone services that will be thoroughly demonstrated during the exhibition. As part of its deep-rooted collaboration with brokerage firms, DFM has introduced sophisticated infrastructure to support smart phone trading as we deeply believe in the importance of providing investors with innovative tools to facilitate share trading; hence they no longer have to personally visit the DFM and brokerage firms, or even make a phone call. DFM services for listed companies and investors to be showcased during GITEX including the “e-IPO” Portal and AGM solutions, reaffirming DFM’s eagerness to provide market participants with all-inclusive services that cater to their requirements whether for IPO process, swift listing and trading of new securities or the efficiency and accuracy of AGM registration and voting, as well as the swift distribution of cash dividends.”
“I would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere thanks to the Dubai Smart Government for hosting the DFM stand within its pavilion and providing various necessities for a successful participation. DFM enjoys a well-established relationship with the Dubai Smart Government and other organizations actively promoting the electronic transformation of services.”
