Companies can request lifting the freeze on shares based on an official request from the company submitted to the DFM.

- The company sends an official request to the Clearing, Settlement and Depository Department requesting to lift the freeze on particular shares.
- The Clearing, Settlement and Depository Department will send a confirmation letter to the company once the shares are unfrozen along with the invoice to settle the payment of fees.
A valid copy of the investor’s supporting documents in the case of mergers.

Shares cannot be transferred if they are frozen. Frozen shares need to be un-frozen first; this process requires submission of an original certificate or copy of Allotment Notice to the DFM.
